Mask Shop
A full moon hangs heavy above the wide teeth of the mountain range. The wind stirs tall spruce and dogwood, and the air is filled with the smell of the oncoming harvest. There is a bite to the air, as if winter is right at the heels of the autumnal doe. The winding path dances between the tall pass of the two mountains, beckoning the traveler onward. There is a small glowing lamp several steps away, and upon closer inspection, one comes across a lithe man in a ronin's hakama. A wide bamboo hat sits on his head, hiding his face from true view. An umbrella is open and on his shoulder, it's tall bamboo rod stuck deep in the earth. The man raises his head up, and a strange corvid mask hangs on his face by obijima.
“I've been waiting for you!” He says cheerfully, and tips the beak of the mask upwards, like a curious crow. You're not sure how, but there is suddenly a open blanket between you two, covered in a strange assortment of masks. Their grinning faces are pointed upwards, and their empty eyes are gazing at nothing. “Go on! Pick one!” The voice whispers behind the unmoving ebony slate of the raven-like mask.

Rook is a Masked fae merchant who travels the world,
collecting masks from many different cultures and times,
some extant, and some long past. He is also a skilled
craftsman that makes his own masks from various materials
and inspiration he finds. His offerings change frequently
due to his travels, so check back often until you find the
Mask prompt that inspires you to make your character!
Each Player can only claim once from The Mask Shoppe:
once you claim, that Mask concept and character is yours
forever. This is to ensure that new players will have plenty
of Masked characters to pick from!
When you find the Mask that you want to claim in the
Google Doc listing, simply comment below along with a
link to your Player Profile, which you can make using the
Player Profile Template or from scratch. You can host your
player profile anywhere, as long as it is easily accessible
online to those who have the link. Once your claim is approved by us, we will mark the Mask you chose as claimed, and you can create your Masked character! The Masked provide great breadth for design and creativity, as they have very few limitations in how they can look. Their main distinguishing features are the Masks that seal them and turn them from ordinary living beings of Mundis to fae that can travel freely to Alfheim and back. All Masked were once creatures from Mundis, sealed to their masks with powerful fae magic and gaining great power, which they need, for despite its beauty, Alfheim is full of danger.
We highly recommend looking through the Masked Creation Guide while designing your Masked, to ensure that your character will have the qualities that you want and will interact interestingly with their new world.
